Lake Sunapee

Everyone loves a boat trip. A group of residents headed to Lake Sunapee for our annual cruise, and this summer was an especially multi-generational event. Our intrepid travelers were accompanied by Sandy, a nurse, and her grandchildren, and our activities director Kayleen, who brought her daughter. Brenda the cook also accompanied the group, but she didn’t bring children. Instead, Brenda brought lunch, a wonderful picnic lunch.
The weather was perfect. Our happy contingent loved riding in the sunshine in the bow of the boat, and everyone delighted in the children’s delight. A tourist from Ohio, attracted by the lively noise, came over to introduce himself and to chat. He was convinced that our residents were, if not world travelers, as spirited a group as he had met in his extensive travels. And cruise day was an unqualified success.

When dad was [at a nursing home] in Concord, I ended up paying a private duty nurse to supplement their people. I don’t have to do that anymore. Frankly, I am little overwhelmed with the kindness you’ve shown us both.
